How it works

Drive. Swipe. Send.

The whole job takes about thirty seconds a day, and most days less.

Drive like normal

Steadymile notices when you start driving and records the trip in the background: start, end, route distance and time. You never press start.

Swipe to classify

Right for business, left for personal. Set your work hours and frequent places, and most drives classify themselves.

Send the report

A monthly reimbursement report or the year-end IRS-ready log, as a PDF or CSV, sent straight to your employer or accountant.

The tracking watchdog

A mileage log that tells you the moment it stops.

The most common complaint about mileage apps, after price, is the drives they silently missed, found at tax time when it's too late. Steadymile watches its own tracking and speaks up right away.

  • Location permission switched from Always to While Using
  • Precise Location or Background App Refresh turned off
  • Low Power Mode during a drive
  • Your phone says you're driving, but no drive was recorded
  • No drives on a day you usually drive
  • The app was closed from the app switcher

In 1 to 2 star App Store reviews of six leading mileage apps, 19% to 38% describe missed or lost drives (our review study, Oct 2026).

The Price Lock

A yearly price that never rises. Or pay once, as a Founder.

Popular trackers such as MileIQ and Driversnote charge $139.99 to $150 a year, and a subscription's price can change at renewal. Steadymile is $24.99 a year, locked in writing, or $79.99 once if you join before April 15, 2027.

Proof, not stars

We road-test it, and we publish the numbers.

A new app can't show you years of reviews. So before launch we drive about fifty real trips on three different iPhones, compare every one with the car's odometer, and post the results, good or bad.

Private by design

No account. Your drives never touch our servers.

Most mileage apps upload every trip to their cloud, and some ask to link your bank. Steadymile keeps your log on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. A new phone restores everything, and there's no login to forget.

  • No sign-up, no password, no profile
  • Trips stored on your iPhone, synced through your own iCloud
  • No ads, no data sold, no bank linking
  • Export everything as CSV, free, any time

Questions

Good questions

When can I get Steadymile?

It's coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. Leave your email and we'll send one message when it's out.

What is free, and what is paid?

Free, for good: unlimited automatic tracking, swipe to classify, your totals, the tracking alerts and a CSV export of everything. Pro adds IRS-ready PDF reports, the email to your accountant, iCloud sync, work-hours rules, several vehicles, import and custom reimbursement rates. Pro is $24.99 a year with a written Price Lock, or $3.99 a month. Until April 15, 2027 there is also a Founder lifetime: $79.99 once, never again.

What does the Price Lock mean?

If you pay yearly, your renewal price is the price you started at, for as long as you keep renewing. We put it in writing on the pricing page. The Founder lifetime, on sale until April 15, 2027, means you pay once and never again.

Will it really catch every drive?

No phone app can promise 100%, and we won't. What Steadymile does differently is tell you the moment something stops it recording, so a gap is a minute long, not a month. We publish our road-test results on the reliability page before launch.

Do I need an account?

No. Your drives stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, so a new phone restores everything. We never see your trips.

Can I bring my history from another app?

Yes. Export a CSV from MileIQ, Everlance or TripLog and import it into Steadymile, and your year stays in one log. Here is how.

Is the report accepted by the IRS?

The report records what IRS Publication 463 asks a mileage log to show: the date, where you went, the business purpose and the miles for each drive, and your totals for the year. It is a log, not tax advice; your tax professional decides how you use it.

Android?

iPhone first. Leave your email if you want Android, and we will count it.
