Privacy Policy

I.What stays on your device

• Your drives: for each drive, the time, the start and end places, the route distance, the purpose you choose and any note, plus the vehicles, frequent places, work hours and rates you set. They are stored inside the app on your iPhone.
• Location and motion: the app reads your location and motion in the background, with your permission, only to notice drives and measure them. Location points are used on your iPhone to work out each drive; they are not sent to us.
• Reports and exports: PDF and CSV reports are made on your iPhone and go only where you choose to send them.
• No account: there is no sign-up, no profile and no copy of your log on our servers. We cannot see your drives.

II.iCloud sync

If you use Pro's sync, your log is stored in your own private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so it appears on your other devices and a new phone. It is in your iCloud account, under Apple's policy; we cannot read it.

III.What leaves your device

• Purchase status: Apple processes purchases and tells the app what you have bought. We never see your card or your name.
• Anonymous counts, only if you choose it: if you turn on "Help improve tracking", the app sends counts such as how many drives were detected and how often a tracking alert appeared. Never a location, a place, a route or anything you typed. It is off unless you turn it on.
• The website: if you join the launch list on steadymile.app, we keep your email address with Cloudflare only to write to you once when Steadymile is in the App Store, then delete it. If you request an accountant code, we keep your name, firm and email until we send the code at launch, then delete them. The site sets no tracking cookies.

IV.What we don't do

• No advertising, and no sale or rental of personal data.
• No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• No sending of your drives, places or routes to us or anyone else.
• No bank linking, no ads, no selling of data.

V.Who else handles data

Only the services named above, acting on our instructions or under their own policies: Apple (the App Store, iCloud and your backups) and Cloudflare (the website, its launch list and accountant requests). We disclose data to authorities only where the law requires it.

VI.Keeping and deleting

To delete your log, use Settings, Your data, Erase everything in the app, which also removes the synced copy from your iCloud. Deleting the app deletes the copy on that phone; an iCloud copy stays until you erase it or remove it in your iCloud settings, and a copy may remain in an older device backup until that backup is replaced. Website addresses are deleted after the launch email or code, or sooner if you ask.

VII.Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold, and object to its use. Residents of the EU, the UK and California have these rights by law. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

VIII.Children

Steadymile is made for adults who drive for work and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

IX.Changes and contact
